  Advertising

The National Black Book Festival is scheduled for October 26-28, 2017 and provides a variety of advertising opportunities for authors, publishers, entrepreneurs and corporations who may or may not be able to attend the actual event.  The following advertising opportunities are available.

NOTE: Authors who are interested in year-round advertising for their books to reach book clubs, media, book reviewers, consumers, bookstores and libraries should review the options at Cushcity.com, sponsor of NBBF. All NBBF deposits and fees, including advertising fees, are non-refundable.

Advertising in NBBF Newspaper (Full-page, half-page or quarter-page ads available in color and black-and-white).  This newspaper is produced about a month before the Festival and will be distributed to all educational institutions in the Houston area, as well as at the Festival to all attendees.  Newspaper has been printed and is ready for viewing

Social Media Book Boost - You book will receive four (4) social media posts on NBBF's Facebook page (78,000+ fans) over the course of 4 to 6 weeks (automatically tweets to 500+ NBBF Twitter followers). The promotion will include a cover of your book and a link to your website and/or your Amazon book page. ONGOING

Book Announcement Program - Provide two (2) copies of one of your books.  During the Festival, your book title, author's name and genre will be announced from the podium and given away as a gift to a Festival attendee.  NOTE:  Books are provided by author free of charge and will not be returned.  Once payment is made, books must reach our office by October 20, 2017.

Supporting Author Link on the Festival web site (for authors who CANNOT attend), with link to the author's web site or other online location.  Link remains from time of purchase until October 31, 2017.  Participating authors automatically receive a link to their web site upon registration.  ONGOING

Book Feature in National Black Book Festival News, a monthly e-newsletter which is distributed to over 1,100 African-American book clubs and 25,000 consumers via e-mail.  The deadline for each edition is the 20th of the month preceding distribution. For example, the deadline for the February edition is January 20th.  ONGOING

On-Site Video Presentation - Provide a 30-second to five-minute video that will be featured at the 2017 NBBF.  The videos will be shown on a HD screen in the main registration area during the Festival and will be shown on a repeated loop.  Book trailers, interviews, performances, promotional videos, etc. are permitted.  If authors or vendors need videos produced, these can be done by Cushcity.com at a reasonable cost; however, orders for videos to be created for the Festival must be submitted by August 31, 2017 to be included in the video feed.  For authors/vendors who already have their videos, the deadline for submission is October 18, 2017.

Video must be tasteful and contain no nudity or excessive profanity.  (NBBF reserves the right to reject any video it deems inappropriate for the Festival's audience.) Video presentations will be played on Friday and Saturday (Oct. 27-28, 2017) at the Festival. 
Cost:  $189.00

  Pre-Festival Promotional Video - NBBF will produce a series of promotional videos leading up to 2017 NBBF.  The videos will feature authors who will be attending the Festival as participating authors with tables or as seminar presenters.  We will also produce promotional videos for authors who will not be attending, but who support the event.  The videos will include a maximum of ten (10) authors each and the segment with the authors will include an author photo, book image, and 20-second voice narration about each book.  Each participant will receive a copy of the video file for use on their web sites, Facebook pages, etc.  The videos will be featured on the NBBF web site for one-week intervals and cross promoted on Facebook, as space permits.  Each video is guaranteed at least one full week of promotion of the NBBF web site.

Cost:  $69.00 per author/per book

Gift Bag Marketing Program (insert your flyer, brochure or postcard in the Festival gift bags which will be distributed to 1,000 Festival attendees).  Marketing item is provided by the author, publisher or business.  Once payment is made, insertion items must reach our office by DEADLINE:  October 18, 2017
Cost:  $99.00

Featured Video of the Week - Provide a 30-second to five-minute video that will be featured on the NBBF web site's home page for one week.  Video must be uploaded to YouTube.  Book trailers, interviews, performances, etc. are permitted.  Video must be tasteful and contain no nudity or excessive profanity.  This advertising may occur anytime.  ONGOING
Cost:  $59.00
