This reception welcomes the out-of-town authors, book clubs and other Festival attendees to the City of Houston. An appetizing buffet, catered by Cater2U, will be served, along with beverages and dessert. Cater2U is a local catering firm and the menu will be scrumptious. Door prizes will be awarded. This breakfast is designed specifically to enhance networking opportunities on the last day of the Festival. Specific activities will be conducted to encourage and promote networking among the attendees. A full breakfast buffet, catered by Cater2U, will be served. Attire: Casual.

Attendance at the poetry slam is FREE for observers.
For the 2014 Festival, poets who enter will compete for a cash prize. There may be 2 to 3 preliminary bouts and the finale will occur on October 25, 2014 at the Festival. Judges score each of the performances and there will be an MC who will be the poet/host.
