The 6th annual National Black Book Festival is scheduled for Oct. 24-26, 2013 at Fallbrook Church, 12512 Walters Rd., in Northwest Houston and is sponsored by Cushcity.com, one of the leading Web sites promoting African-American literature. 

The Festival will be an outdoor, tented event with FREE ADMISSION to the public. The tents will be large and durable with side walls.  In the event of a rain forecast for the entire weekend, a contingency plan is already in place. 

This 6th annual event will feature the following:

● Corporate/publisher booths                                            ●  Author exhibits
● Small business/educational institution booths                 ● Featured author discussions and signings
●  Live entertainment                                                         ● Spoken Word Poetry Slam
●  Workshops and seminars                                                ● An evening reception and two breakfasts
●  On-site author radio interviews                                      ● Children's tent with kids' entertainment and more!

The 2013 Festival will be marketed nationwide to over 1,100 Black book clubs, 25,000 book readers and 100 libraries.  National and local media will be apprised of the event.  A full-color NBBF Newspaper will be distributed through Kroger, HEB and Fiesta supermarkets throughout the greater Houston area during the months leading up to the event.  The newspaper will include the full Festival schedule, as well as information on featured authors, entertainment and workshop presenters.  Television ads will be run on cable stations throughout the greater Houston area. 

Authors may obtain a draped table during the Festival.  Author tables include two chairs, two badges (for an assistant, if needed) and table signage.  In addition, authors who register with tables will receive one (1) ticket to both breakfasts on Friday and Saturday.  Authors will be grouped according to genre for easy navigation through the Festival space for readers.

The authors will be grouped according to genre and there are 19 different genres, as shown below.

NOTE:  Since the 2013 Festival will be held on church property, the display of books with profanity or nudity on the covers is strictly prohibited.

Author Tables
Author tables can be reserved with a deposit, according to the following schedule (all NBBF fees are non-refundable):

Once your deposit is made, the author's name and link will be added to the NBBF web site within 48 hours of registration.

Pay your one-time author photo fee of $89.00 by clicking "Add to Cart" here.  Your photo will be added to the NBBF web site within 48 hours of receipt of payment and photo.

To make interim payments or to pay your balance in full, log into your Paypal account and send the payment to the following email address:  grichardson@cushcity.com.  In the subject, put "NBBF Payment" and your payment will be posted to your NBBF account.

Small Business/Educational Institution Tables
NBBF accepts a limited number of non-book/small business and institutional vendors.  The standard registration rate for small business vendor tables is only $400.00 and a deposit of 50% must be paid no later than May 31, 2013.  The small business/institution vendor packet should be downloaded and reviewed by all vendors who reserve tables, and is available here:

Publisher Exhibits
The standard registration rate for publisher exhibits is only $500.00 and a deposit of 50% must be paid no later than May 31, 2013.  Publisher exhibits include a 12' x 6' draped and skirted table, 4 chairs, 4 vendor badges and table signage and 4 tickets to both the Friday and Saturday breakfasts.  The publisher/vendor packet should be downloaded and reviewed by all publishers who reserve tables, and is available here:  http://www.nationalblackbookfestival.com/publishers.pdf

Corporations
The early bird registration rate for corporate exhibits is only $700.00 and a 50% deposit must be paid no later than May 31, 2013.   Corporate exhibits include a 10' x 10' exhibit space, which can accommodate a modular corporate exhibit or NBBF can provide the draped and skirted table space in a premium location for the Festival.  Corporate exhibitors receive 6 chairs, 6 vendor badges and table signage, as well as 6 tickets to all NBBF special events.  The corporate vendor packet should be downloaded and reviewed by all entities wishing to reserve exhibit space, and is available here:  http://www.nationalblackbookfestival.com/corporate.pdf
