The National Black Book Festival is scheduled for May 16-18, 2008 at Houston's George R. Brown Convention Center and is a cooperative effort between Cushcity.com, one of the leading Web sites promoting African-American literature, and Houston Black Expo, the largest African-American trade show in the state of Texas.

This 1st annual event will include the following features:

• Author exhibits
• Featured author discussions and signings
• Book Club Central
• Spoken Word Poetry Slam
• Children’s Book Reading Sessions
• And More!

The 2007 Houston Black Expo attracted about 20,000 attendees. The Festival will be marketed nationwide to over 1,000 Black book clubs, 25,000 book readers and 100 libraries. In additional, national and local media will be apprised of the event.

Authors may obtain a draped table during the Festival at a discounted price off the usual Houston Black Expo booth rate.
