Memoir Writing: Reclaiming Our History, Telling Our Stories
Workshop Presenter:
Janis F. Kearney
Author and Publisher
Friday, October 23 @ 3:00 p.m.

Author, oral historian and memoirist Janis F. Kearney shares the important steps to "Telling Our Own Stories" that stick to the bone; including an interactive work session with participants as they write their own stories to share with the class.

Janis F. Kearney grew up in southeast Arkansas in a sharecropping family of 19. She took over the award winning Arkansas State Press newspaper from civil rights leader Daisy Gatson Bates in 1987. In 1995, she became the first ever personal diarist to a president.  She co-founded Writing our World Publishing with her husband in 2001, publishing seven books as of 2014.
