How does an author participate in NBBF?

A: Register on the website in the Exhibitors section. A deposit is required upon registration to reserve your table with final payment due by July 31, 2026. We expect to sell out of vendor table space by the end of July.

May an author with an NBBF vendor table sell other products along with their books?

A: Yes. Authors may sell items that help with branding their books. These include, but are not limited to, t-shirts, mugs, pens, specialty bookmarks, journals, and more.

As an author/vendor, how many books should I bring to sell at NBBF?

A: While we cannot guarantee the number of books any author will sell, we recommend bringing 50 to 100 books. If you have multiple titles, then you distribute the quantity among them.

Can authors share a vendor table at NBBF?

A: Table sharing is NOT allowed at NBBF. The only exception is for co-authors whose names are both printed on the book they have published. Co-authors are allowed to share a table.

Is there a cost for the public to attend NBBF?

A: General admission for NBBF (which includes author exhibits, all seminars, and featured author sessions) is absolutely FREE. We also have three special events (a welcome reception, Friday breakfast, and Saturday breakfast) for which ticket purchase is required. You can also purchase a package with all three events or our VIP package which includes event tickets, t-shirts, and paperback books of the featured authors. Can I volunteer at NBBF?

A: Absolutely! We have several volunteer opportunities for the entire weekend. Select your preferred date/time slot and assignment. Then register as a volunteer in our Volunteers section.

How can I become a featured author at NBBF?

A: NBBF featured author spots are by invitation only and are extended about a year in advance. The criteria to be considered for an invite include one or more of the following:

• National name recognition with a national readership base
• Publication of 20+ books, some of which have been on national bestsellers lists (e.g., the New York Times or USA Today)
• National book award nomination or win for the NAACP Image Awards, Book Expo Awards, National Book Awards, or other well-established award entities
• Multiple requests from NBBF attendees

Is there a host hotel for NBBF?

A: Yes. The host hotel is the Sheraton North Houston, which is located close to Bush Airport (IAH). Our discounted room rate is $99/night. The reservation link for our Sheraton room block is HERE. The host hotel is approximately a 20-minute drive to/from the venue. However, NBBF provides complimentary shuttle service to/from the hotel to the venue throughout NBBF weekend. What is the attire for exhibitors and participating authors at NBBF?

A: The suggested attire for the weekend is business casual.
