How does an author participate in NBBF?

A: Register on the website in the Exhibitors section. A deposit is required upon registration to reserve your table with final payment due by July 31, 2026.

Is there a cost for the public to attend NBBF?

A: General admission for NBBF (which includes author exhibits, all seminars, and featured author sessions) is absolutely FREE. We also have three special events (a welcome reception, Friday breakfast, and Saturday breakfast) for which ticket purchase is required. You can also purchase a package with all three events on our VIP package which includes event tickets, t-shirts, and paperback books of the featured authors. Purchase event tickets on the website in the Event Tickets section.

Can I volunteer at NBBF?

A: Absolutely! We have several volunteer opportunities for the entire weekend. Select your preferred date/time slot and assignment. Then register as a volunteer in our Volunteers section.

How can I become a featured author at NBBF?

A: NBBF featured author spots are by invitation only and are extended about a year in advance. The criteria to be considered for an invite include one or more of the following:

  • National name recognition with a national readership base
  • Publication of 20+ books, some of which have been on national bestsellers lists (e.g., the New York Times or USA Today)
  • National book award nomination or win for the NAACP Image Awards, Book Expo Awards, or National Book Awards
  • Multiple requests from NBBF attendees
